Olfactory consciousness suggests a new theory of qualitative consciousness, which can predict the epistemic explanatory gap without regress to a metaphysical gap.

Benjamin Young recently completed a PhD in Philosophy with a concentration in Cognitive Science at the Graduate Center of The City University of New York. His dissertation “Olfaction: Smelling the Content of Consciousness” concerned the Neurophilosophy of Smell. Before entering the Philosophy Program at the Graduate Center he completed an MPhil in Philosophy and MSc in the Philosophy of Mental Disorders at King’s College London.
